Position: Lead Integration Technician, Amazon Leo

Overview

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. The primary mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity beyond the reach of existing networks, serving households, schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies. As a Lead Integration Technician, you will guide a team of technicians to assemble, test, and ship production Leo satellites, ensuring high quality, safety, and on‑time delivery.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and guide a team of Integration Technicians by planning, assigning, and executing daily tasks, and assisting with new member onboarding and training.
  • Enforce high quality and safety standards for both product and personnel.
  • Integrate and test the Leo satellite and various complex subassemblies in a cleanroom and ESD‑controlled environment.
  • Produce daily reports on integration builds.
  • Rigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive hardware.
  • Use precision calibrated tools—torque wrenches, multimeters, optical inspection devices, micrometers and calipers.
  • Read, create, and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions, some of which may be ambiguous or incomplete.
  • Run functional and environmental testing on units, including advanced troubleshooting operations.
  • Use computer software programs for managing tests.
  • Check and inspect your work and that of others after completion to ensure engineering and quality standards are met per the drawings and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, design, and test engineers to develop, document, and complete activities, including continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure an efficient, safe, and effective work environment.
Additional Requirements
  • Willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed. Estimated shift time: 2nd shift Wed‑Sat 4/10s (5:00 pm – 3:30 am). Shifts may vary depending on program needs.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive assembly operations.
  • Able to climb and descend ladders, work in tight spaces, bend, grasp, sit, pull, push, stoop, and stretch as required.
  • Able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year(s) leading technicians in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military, or other high-reliability operating environment.
  • Experience in an ambiguous, fast‑paced production environment.
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD-sensitive hardware and clean‑room requirements.
  • Experience with forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment (including certifications).
  • Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity.
  • Demonstrated ability in reading, writing, creating, and understanding technical drawings, work instructions, test plans, and SOPs.
  • Detailed knowledge of electrical, optical, and mechanical systems, antennas, functional testing, and satellite components.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high‑paced, challenging work environment.
