Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership responsible for a specific, assigned area of the store and for general operations when functioning as Manager on Duty. They are responsible for opening and closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining merchandise presentation, and ensuring a clean, friendly shop environment. They also execute company operational processes.

Essential Functions Maintaining Safe ;
Secure Environments
  • Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors.
  • Maintains awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment and immediately corrects or reports any unsafe conditions.
  • Responsible for security of the building including entrance/exit control, electronic article surveillance checks, cash office security, armored carrier pick‑ups and register area supervision.
  • Removes clutter and ensures safe, clear egress to emergency exits.
  • Responsible for customer safety including accident prevention, reporting and emergency procedures.
  • Tests all fire alarm systems as scheduled and responds to after‑hours alarms when requested.
Customer Service
  • Treats all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
  • Demonstrates courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times, and recognizes associates using company recognition programs.
Personal and Store Brand
  • Represents and supports the company brand at all times.
  • Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with company dress code and ensures all associates adhere to the dress code.
  • Keeps all store areas clean, well‑maintained, and merchandised to standard, and is responsible for daily trash removal.
General Merchandising
  • Ensures recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to company standards.
  • Receives merchandise truck when needed and processes all merchandise with urgency.
  • Handles receipt of all non‑merchandise inbound deliveries and maintains cleanliness and organization of stockrooms.
  • Helps deliver and place merchandise on the sales floor and ensures back‑stock is secured and processed per company policy.
  • Responsible for signage, floor moves, promotions, re‑wraps, and reducing loss from damage.
Loss Prevention
  • Complies with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program and maintains a strong presence on the sales floor.
  • Safeguards confidential information, cash, credit card details, and merchandise.
  • Maintains the Public View Monitor system and conducts Code 50 package inspections.
  • Executes company best practices to maximize productivity.
Front End Supervision And Operations
  • Ensures associates execute front‑end procedures to company standards.
  • Maintains pace, energy, and presence at the front end, managing lines and customer wait time.
  • Trains and coaches associates on cash registers, shortage control, and other front‑end procedures.
  • Controls associate break schedules, ensures all equipment works properly, and maintains supplies for the area.
  • Ensures go‑backs are expedited, scanned, tagged, and ticketed, and teaches the “Scan and Bag” best practice.
Fitting Rooms
  • Maintains the cleanliness and order of fitting rooms.
  • Ensures all garment tags are audited and accounted for according to company policy.
  • Ensures compliance with go‑back procedures for merchandise returned to the sales floor.
Administrative Duties As Assigned By Store Manager
  • Ensures cash pulls, bank deposits, payroll administration, and associate scheduling compliance.
  • Manages front‑end control, refund approvals, and register procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the store manager.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements /Ada
  • Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
