Med Tech Field Service Engineer
Our Med Tech Field Service Engineer experiences a unique opportunity to employ their technical experience by collaborating with healthcare professionals and leading technical initiatives in medical device technology. You will be responsible for periodic maintenance, installing and updating as needed medical devices including laboratory diagnostic units in hospitals across the United States, while delivering exceptional customer service. Please Note: This is a 100% travel position. Local, regional, and national travel required.
Job Responsibilities- Provide ongoing communication and customer support to on-site hospital staff.
- Organize, test, and update medical devices, installing and configuring hardware, software, and network products.
- Conduct routine checks and record data from product tests after installation and configuration.
- Document and submit daily data while maintaining high standards of product support quality documentation.
- Full‑time commitment requires travel locally, regionally, and nationally.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational classes and reviewing technical bulletins.
- Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Maintain credentials required by client customers through credentialing services such as GHX (Vendormate) or Reptrax.
- Assignment-based schedule with a 30–40 hour commitment per week and overtime as needed. This role guarantees 24 hours per week but the expected work may be up to 40 hours.
- Bachelor's Degree or Technical School in biomedical engineering or equivalent.
- 3–5+ years’ experience in the repair, maintenance, and installation of medical diagnostic equipment used in a laboratory setting (education may be substituted for experience).
- Biomedical, hardware, electrical, mechanical and diagnostic repair and troubleshooting experience is required.
- Professional business acumen and effective communication skills.
- Self‑motivated individual who can work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to respond to clients by traveling when needed to address repairs or maintenance.
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills to ensure on‑time completion of project assignments.
- Active and unrestricted driver’s license, and a personal vehicle for local work‑related assignments.
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time and lift up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to clear hospital vendor credentialing requirements.
- Position may/will require up‑to‑date immunizations.
- Full‑time commitment with travel flexibility.
- Assignment-based schedule with 40+ hour commitment per week; travel nationally to support customer needs.
- Driving is considered a business requirement for this role. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and will undergo a driving‑record review prior to hire.
- Personal vehicle required for job‑related assignments up to 3 hours from home.
- Located within 1 hour of a major airport.
- Travel time is paid.
- Background in biomedical, networking, military or field‑based technician roles.
- Experience working in a technical role within a healthcare environment.
- Strong computer skills and comfort with troubleshooting using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, One Note).

A required function of this job requires individuals to enter various healthcare facilities. Thus, upon selection, individuals must complete the healthcare facility credentialing process. To obtain credentials, individuals must meet the immunization requirements specified by the facility. Individuals are typically required to have completed/up‑to‑date vaccinations for measles, mumps & rubella, varicella, negative tuberculosis (TB) test, tetanus, diphtheria & pertussis (Tdap), hepatitis B, seasonal influenza, and COVID‑19 vaccine primary series (including boosters when required).
