General Purpose
This position provides a visible presence at store entrances and exits, mitigating theft and fraud while maintaining a safe, secure environment for associates and customers. The Specialist greets all customers, demonstrates "command" presence in company‑issued vests, monitors the Code 50 package inspection policy, walks the sales floor to identify theft indicators, and partners with store leadership to ensure compliance with loss‑prevention directives.
EssentialFunctions Maintaining Safe & Secure Environment
- Ensures safety is the top priority and assists in maintaining a safe environment for associates and customers.
- Provides visible "command" presence, greeting at entrances/exits and sales floor while wearing the vest and monitoring potential safety issues.
- Removes clutter and ensures clear egress to emergency exits.
- Provides exceptional customer service by greeting customers, making eye contact, smiling, and answering questions courteously.
- Treats all customers and associates with respect.
- Demonstrates courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism; recognizes associates via company programs.
- Engages with internal and external partners (conference calls, district meetings, education, recognition).
- Performs additional duties to support loss‑prevention initiatives.
- Represents and supports the company brand at all times.
- Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with the company dress code.
- Monitors entrances, exits, and sales floor for potential theft indicators.
- Collects theft indicators and uses internal or external intelligence to influence shortage trends; communicates findings to store and loss‑prevention leadership.
- Adheres to company policy for external theft response.
- Executes best practices to maximize productivity while minimizing steps and touches.
- Increases store awareness of effective processes to reduce operational shortage.
- Trains and educates associates on shortage‑reduction initiatives.
- Observes and validates proper checkout procedures for customers and associates.

- High school education or equivalent required; AA degree preferred.
- One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
- One year loss‑prevention/security training preferred.
- Active security guard license preferred.
- Works effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Builds and maintains relationships with the store team.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proven ability to resolve conflict.
- Must comply with all federal and state laws for security positions, including background screening, physical examination, fingerprinting, and drug/alcohol testing.
- Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
- Spends up to 100% of time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Raises or lowers objects > 25 lbs. from one level to another.
- Regularly bends, stoops, or crouches.
- Some assignments may require additional qualifications.

Benefitsand Compensation
Base pay range: $18.50 – $19.00 per hour. Total compensation includes additional rewards. Benefits: accident, critical illness, vision, auto, home, pet insurance; associate program; 401(K) service requirements; employee stock purchase program;
