WISe Parent Partner Counselor

Program Summary

Wraparound with Intensive Services (WISe) is an approach to helping Medicaid-eligible children, youth, and families with intensive behavioral and mental health care needs. The program's goal is to help youth thrive with their natural supports in homes and communities, and assist in helping them meet the goals they have identified. Services are based on the individualized need of the child or youth.

Youth Eastside Services (YES) is currently looking for a Parent Partner Counselor to join the Children's Wrap Around with Intensive Services program (WISe)! We are looking for someone who can work as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide an individualized, creative, and strength-based approach within the wraparound model. The WISe Parent Partner Counselor utilizes their own experiences as the parent/caregiver of a youth who has experienced significant emotional or behavioral issues and involvement in one or more child-serving systems, to deliver direct supportive services to parents/caregivers of youth referred to or receiving wraparound services.

The Parent Partner Counselor ensures that parent/caregiver and/or family voice and choice are understood, and their needs are addressed and met. Connects families to support and resources within their community and wraparound process. Advocates for family needs within the team and community.

The WISe Parent Partner Counselor provides comprehensive support services assisting children, youth, and families in coping with complex behavior and mental health needs. In a team framework, the Parent Partner Counselor collaborates with a Mental Health Therapist, Care Coordinator, and Youth Peer Counselor to identify goals, assess needs, and coordinate access to community resources. In addition, the Parent Peer Partner will conduct outreach and provide services to parents/caregivers and/or families in their homes or other convenient community locations.

Reporting to the WISe Program Manager, the Parent Partner Counselor will carry out the position's responsibilities as defined below under Primary Job Functions.
