Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java or C++), and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
  • 3 years of experience in building and developing infrastructure or distributed systems.
  • 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience with distributed, multi-tenant systems (e.g., cloud services/runtimes).
  • Experience in deploying security isolation technologies (e.g., memory safe languages like Rust, Micro

    VMs).
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
About the Job

Google Cloud's software engineers develop core technologies that support billions of users. In this role, you will design and develop secure multi‑tenant infrastructure, providing strong isolation and resource governance guarantees.

Responsibilities
  • Write and test product or system development code.
  • Guide design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select among available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues.
Salary

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $174,000–$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
