Office Assistant II
The Communication Disorders department of the School of Business and Professional Studies is seeking candidates for Office Assistant II which provides overall administrative support of the Communication Disorders Department as well as the Truman State University Speech and Hearing Clinic. Assist the department chair in the preparation and tracking of the annual budget, letters, memoranda, meeting minutes, evaluations, personnel recommendations, annual accreditation documentation and other external reporting, and other routine documents.
Assist the department chair and faculty in the preparation and processing of internal documents for departmental purchases, travel requisitions, and expense reimbursements. Maintenance of departmental files. Assist with the preparation of course schedules. Maintain applicant and admission files for graduate programs. Review and coordinate updates needed for department websites. Assist with the completion of internal and external reports. Assist in training, assigning, and supervising University student employees.
Assist in the planning and coordination of department events – including some evening and weekend events. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired. Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and organization skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Demonstrated ability to take initiative and self-direction. Detail oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous administrative support experience and/or experience in a medical/clinical office. Coursework beyond high school.
Salary - $15.85 hourly.
