Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
Assignment Duration: 13-week contract position.
Schedule:
Days, 6 AM - 6 PM, weekends required.
We are seeking an experienced Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be expected to handle patients across ESI levels 1 to 5 and manage a patient ratio of 4-5:1, particularly for average ESI level 3 patients. Responsibilities include providing care for stroke, STEMI, trauma, and sepsis patients while demonstrating quick triage and patient assessment skills.
Teamwork is essential, and the ability to float to other departments as necessary is required.
- Perform clinical skills including PIV, NG/OG tube placements, foley catheter placements, splinting, and wound care.
- Assist with art line, central line, and chest tube placements as needed.
- Quickly triage and assess patients presenting to the emergency department.
- Ensure appropriate EMTALA paperwork is completed according to regulatory guidelines.
- Provide care for patients of all age groups, from neonates to elderly.
- At least 2+ years of Emergency Department RN experience required.
- Minimum of 1+ year of travel nursing experience.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required.
- Experience as a preceptor or charge nurse preferred but not required.
