Math Intervention (Alternative Education Math Teacher Grades 9 through 12) - Certified

Kirkwood High School is seeking a passionate, student focused, innovative math teacher (Alternative Education Math Teacher Grades 912) for the 26/27 school year. The candidate will differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all our students. The successful candidate will work with our students who are enrolled in our Pioneer Pathways Program.

Certification Requirements:
Valid Math 9 through 12 teaching certification (required) Additional certifications in special education or alternative education are a plus.

Required Qualifications

* Training and experience in trauma-informed practices

* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with hard-to-reach and at-risk students

* Strong classroom management skills grounded in relationship-building and restorative approaches

* Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver engaging, standards-aligned math instruction for grades 912 in an alternative setting

* Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic, behavioral, and emotional needs

* Build trusting relationships with students to increase engagement and attendance

* Implement trauma-informed and restorative practices in the classroom

* Collaborate with counselors, administrators, and support staff to develop individualized student plans

* Monitor and document student progress and adjust instruction as needed

* Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment

This is a full-time certified teaching position, with benefits, including:

Salary is based on the Certified Salary Schedule, dependent on relevant education & experience.
