St. Peter Catholic School is seeking a mission‑driven, student‑centered Intermediate Grade Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate is committed to academic excellence, faith formation, and the development of the whole child in a warm and supportive Catholic school environment.
Position SummaryThe Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high‑quality instruction aligned with St. Peter’s curriculum and educational standards. This role supports the spiritual, academic, and social‑emotional growth of students, fostering a safe and engaging classroom rooted in Catholic values. Teachers collaborate with colleagues, communicate regularly with families, and participate in the broader life of the school community.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and implement effective daily lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners
- Create a positive, structured classroom environment that supports learning and student well‑being
- Integrate the teachings and values of the Catholic faith into daily instruction and classroom culture
- Differentiate instruction to support students with varied strengths and learning styles
- Assess student progress through formative and summative methods and provide timely feedback
- Maintain accurate records, grade books, and communication logs
- Collaborate with teammates, support staff, and administration in a professional learning community
- Communicate clearly and consistently with families regarding student growth and classroom expectations
- Participate in school events, professional development, and faith‑based activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
- Valid Missouri teaching certification, or the ability to obtain certification
- Prior teaching experience preferred, but not required
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of St. Peter Parish
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Effective communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills
