Are you an experienced sewing and or fabrication professional with a passion for leadership, quality, and continuous improvement? We are looking for a Sewing Shop Supervisor tolead our sewing operations and ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
In this role, you will supervise daily shop activities, support employee growth, coordinate production schedules, and drive continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong technical expertise and the ability to motivate and develop a high‑performing team
What You'll Do- Supervise and coordinate daily sewing shop operations to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
- Assign work based on team member skill levels, workload, and production priorities
- Monitor quality standards and reduce defects and rework
- Train, coach, and mentor employees through all levels of the sewing skills progression program
- Conduct quality inspections and provide corrective guidance as needed
- Troubleshoot equipment, process, and quality issues
- Promote and enforce workplace safety standards and best practices
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Management teams to improve processes and resolve challenges
- Coordinate equipment maintenance needs and monitor machine performance
- Maintain accurate production and training records
- Support hiring, onboarding, employee development, and performance management initiatives
- Lead special projects and continuous improvement efforts
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 7+ years of sewing and/or fabrication experience.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Expert knowledge of sewing, RF welding, wedge welding, Gerber cutting, and related fabrication processes
- Strong leadership, communication, and team‑building skills
- Proven ability to train, mentor, and evaluate team members
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities
- Strong understanding of materials, construction methods, quality standards, and production requirements
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, work orders, and customer requirements
- Basic computer and production reporting skills
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
