• Provide management oversight for multiple nursing neighborhoods and assist the Director of Nursing as needed.
• Act as a resource to staff regarding administrative programs, policies, and changes.
• Promote a collaborative approach with physicians and other healthcare disciplines.
• Set a positive example in performance, attitude, and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Analyze problems, offer recommendations, and demonstrate initiative in problem resolution.
• Investigate unusual situations or incidents and take appropriate follow‑up action.
• Identify resident concerns and needs.
• Communicate events requiring administrative attention to the Director of Nursing.
• Recommend corrective action when problems are identified, taking immediate action when necessary.
• Make nursing inquiries for new and re‑admissions, calling physicians, families, MSW, and nursing staff, then log all inquiries.
• Collaborate with admitting personnel in assigning beds for admissions and/or transferring patients.
• Submit written communication that is clear, concise, and accurate.

• Develop and implement an ongoing infection prevention and control program to prevent, recognize, and control the onset and spread of infections.
• Establish facility‑wide systems for the prevention, identification, reporting, investigation, and control of infections and communicable diseases.
• Develop and implement written policies and procedures in accordance with current standards of practice and recognized guidelines for infection prevention and control.
• Oversee the facility’s antibiotic stewardship program.
• Oversee resident care activities that increase risk of infection (e.g., use and care of urinary catheters, wound care, incontinence care, skin care, point‑of‑care blood testing, and medication injections).
• Lead the facility’s Infection and Prevention Control Committee.
• Develop action plans to address opportunities for improvement.
• Participate on the facility’s QAA Committee.
• Implement an annual infection control risk assessment process and participate in the facility’s annual facility assessment review process.
• Review and/or revise the infection prevention and control program, its standards, policies, and procedures annually and as needed.
• Provide education related to infection prevention and control principles, policies, and procedures to staff, residents, and families.
