Criminal Assistant Manager

The Osceola County Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to serve as the Criminal Assistant Manager. This position plays a critical role in supporting the Criminal Division Manager by managing daily department operations, prioritizing workflow, and ensuring efficiency across the team. While this position provides daily guidance and logistical oversight, all direct leadership conversations, coaching, and disciplinary actions will remain with the Criminal Division Manager.

• Monitors and manages the Criminal Division Manager's departmental email inbox; categorizes, prioritizes, and routes correspondence to the appropriate staff or department based on urgency and subject matter.

• Oversees preparation and distribution of department reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Coordinates and facilitates training sessions, meetings, and other departmental logistics to ensure smooth operations.

• Delegates daily tasks and assignments to team members to maintain productivity and efficiency.

• Tracks progress of delegated work, following up to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.

• Serves as the primary point of operational control for the department in the Criminal Division Manager's absence.

• Assists with the development and maintenance of departmental procedures and operational manuals.

• Utilizes sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential matters.

• Reviews workload and identifies opportunities for process improvements to enhance department efficiency.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information.

• Skilled in categorizing, prioritizing, and delegating work to the appropriate personnel.

• Ability to assess situations quickly and determine the most effective course of action.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and adaptable to new systems or tools.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.

• Ability to work collaboratively within the department and across other divisions.

• Acts, dresses, and behaves in a professional manner to reflect a positive image of the Clerk & Comptroller's Office.

• Establishes and maintains a highly effective working relationship with all levels, both internally and externally, in a courteous and professional manner.

• Abiding by the Clerk & Comptroller Office policies, procedures and ethical guidelines is crucial.

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or related field preferred.

• Minimum of two years of administrative or operational coordination experience, preferably in a legal, court, or government setting.

• A combination of relevant experience and/or education including paralegal or legal office administrative background will be considered in lieu of required years of experience or education.

• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license.

• Must meet Clerk and Comptroller's Office testing requirements

• Sitting for long periods of time.

• Talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motion.

• Occasional (up to 1/3 of the work time) lifting, carrying to lift up to 15 lbs., pushing and pulling.

• Some occasional walking or standing may be required.
