Job Summary
The Merchandise Buying Coordinator at Disney Consumer Products supports the Merchandiser by coordinating day‑to‑day activities that enable the execution of seasonal merchandise strategies. This role focuses on operational coordination across suppliers and internal cross‑functional partners to ensure accurate item data, timely purchase order processing, and on‑time delivery. The Coordinator works within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision, providing informal support to team members as needed, and escalating exceptions/risks appropriately.

What You Will Do- Play a crucial role in supporting the Merchandiser with the coordination and execution of seasonal merchandise activities. This includes managing timelines, samples, purchase orders, and delivery milestones to ensure smooth operations and contribute to the overall success of Disney Consumer Products.
- Participate in weekly department meetings, providing status updates and distributing meeting notes, action items, and follow‑up communications to internal partners and vendors.
- Show strong organizational, communication, and time‑management skills.
- Support the Merchandiser with day‑to‑day coordination of seasonal merchandise activities, including timelines, samples, purchase orders, and delivery milestones.
- Coordinate merchandising system activities such as item/SKU set‑up, data maintenance, cost and price updates, and documentation tracking, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established processes.
- Prepare and maintain reporting, presentation materials, recaps, and status updates to support weekly business reviews, line reviews, and cross‑functional communications.
- Manage sample coordination for line reviews and presentations, including requesting, receiving, organizing, shipping, and maintaining showroom materials, photo books, and assortment documentation.
- Track purchase orders, shipping status, and deliveries; partner with internal teams and vendors to support on‑time delivery and to escalate risks or exceptions as needed.
- Serve as an operational point of contact for vendors and internal partners on routine inquiries related to samples, item set‑up, purchase orders, and process requirements.
- Coordinate returns, credit memos, clearance activities, and related follow‑up in alignment with established workflows and Merchandiser direction.
- Gather competitive research, trend information, and market insights to support category planning and execution; attend trade shows as a learning opportunity.
- 1+ years of experience in merchandising, buying coordination, retail product administration, supply chain coordination, or a related business support role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and comfort working with high‑volume, detail‑oriented data.
- Experience with merchandising systems (e.g., PLM or similar product lifecycle tools) and purchase order processes preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with internal partners and vendors.
- Demonstrated organizational, prioritization, and time‑management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- High attention to detail, proactive follow‑through, and ability to identify exceptions and elevate appropriately.
- Experience supporting import/domestic transportation or product flow activities.
- Experience preparing recaps, decks, and operational reporting for business reviews.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
