FDOT Sr. Roadway Inspector​/HNTB Sr. Inspector

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced CEI Senior Roadway Inspector to perform FDOT construction work in Central Florida. The role requires FDOT asphalt, concrete, and earthwork experience and will be based in Celebration, FL and surrounding area.

• Inspect, observe, document, and verify work in progress by construction contractors to ensure compliance with project schedule, contract documents and plans.
• Confirm procedures are followed and materials conform to specifications.
• Advise contractor superintendents of necessary actions to ensure conformance with plans, specs, and contract.
• Review and resolve quantity disputes with contractors.
• Utilize engineering inspection practices to perform complex calculations, constructability and biddability reviews, and measurements of completed work.
• Review inspectors’ daily reports of assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
• Perform on‑site material testing and produce as‑constructed sketches.
• Lead daily assignments, mentor, and train employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 9 years of construction‑related experience.
• All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.

• At least 4 years of verifiable FDOT CEI experience in roadway construction.
• FDOT certifications: CTQP Asphalt I & II, CTQP Earthwork I & II, ACI Concrete Field Technician, CTQP Concrete Technician Level2, CTQP Drilled Shaft, CTQP Final Estimates I & II, Advanced MOT.
• Proficient reading and understanding of construction plans and specifications.
• Ability to work with others, take direction, and communicate verbally and in writing.
• Willingness to learn and train others.
• Knowledge of FDOT Electronic Earthwork Records System (ERS) and ability to enter samples in FDOT’s Materials Acceptance and Certification System (MAC).

Kissimmee, FL (Celebration Blvd). This position is ideally suited for local candidates in the area.
