This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
Blue Origin is seeking a Launch Vehicle Engineer (LVE) to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will serve as the engineering owner for assigned hardware systems, responsible for both maintenance engineering and refurbishment activities for our operational fleet of vehicles. This position requires comprehensive engineering ownership for vehicle systems throughout their operational lifecycle.

:
Serve as the technical owner for assigned vehicle subsystems, providing engineering expertise throughout the operations and maintenance lifecycle - Work Instruction Management
:
Develop, maintain, and improve work instructions for maintenance and refurbishment activities - Quality Process Ownership
:
Establish and maintain quality processes typically associated with manufacturing engineering or maintenance engineering roles - Sustaining Engineering
:
Execute engineering scope for the fielded fleet of vehicles following certification, including initiation and execution of Change Requests (ECRs) - Maintenance Engineering
:
Manage work instructions and nonconformances, engineering buyoffs, and related maintenance activities - Procurement Support
:
Provide engineering support for procurement and flight spares - Risk Management
:
Own Risks and Waivers applicable to fielded vehicles, including mission-specific and post-certification items - Engineering Change Board
:
Serve in Engineering Change Board (ECB) roles for launch campaigns and support ECB deprecation efforts - Pre-Flight Reviews

Provide engineering input into all pre-Flight reviews (MSR/MRR/FRR), except for major block upgrades
As a Launch Ops Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll help drive the rate and reliability of New Glenn’s critical launch infrastructure – including our massive Transporter/Erector, LC‑36 Launch Pad, Mobile Test Stand, and specialized test facilities. This team doesn’t just maintain hardware; we continuously reinvent it to enable a step‑change in launch cadence and reliability.
Team StructureWorking collaboratively with your manager and fellow LVEs, you will serve as part of the engineering conscience and technical ownership team for subsystems within the operations and maintenance lifecycle phase. This role requires close collaboration with the applicable subsystem RE in the New Glenn Element teams to identify and implement design and/or process changes that improve system reliability, reduce operational cost, and improve vehicle/ground system turn time.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
- Experience Levels with aerospace systems engineering, maintenance engineering, or related field. (0-3 years Level I Engineer, 3+ Level II Engineer, 5+ Level III Engineer, 8+ SR Level Engineer)
- Experience with configuration management and engineering documentation
- Must be able to work second shift and have flexibility to move shifts as needed. Open to work extended hours if required.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
PreferredExperience with reusable launch vehicles or spacecraft
Knowledge of maintenance engineering principles and practices
