Under direct supervision, the purpose of the position is to provide routine operational support to all fire stations, headquarters, communications, and other County departments as directed. Employees in this classification function at a journeyman level and are accountable for the accuracy of both routine and non-routine logistical needs such as: stations pickups, deliveries of equipment and supplies, restocking warehouse supplies, running rehab fluids, and any other job specific projects assigned by the Logistics Manager or as dictated by the nature of department.
Position may be assigned to a large operating unit and perform a broad array of routine support functions, or assignment may be to a smaller specialized unit wherein incumbents perform specialized duties in supporting department objectives. This position is responsible for the operation of the Logistics Warehouse and the supervision of staff in the absence of the Logistics Manager.

- Employee to support and work any 'On Call' situations determined necessary by management to achieve operational goals. (Refer to County Policy and Procedures 2.3-5)
- Delivers department correspondence or memoranda to and from Fire Rescue headquarters to stations and or other County Departments.
- Assists in the inventory control and distribution of personnel protective equipment, rehab needs, equipment, station and EMS supplies.
- Retrieves Emergency Medical equipment and supplies from area hospitals and delivers to the appropriate fire stations.
- Performs routine clerical functions such as data entry, typing and filing of reports, report processing, documentation review, completion and daily updates to any logistic impacted SharePoint files (i.e. personal protective equipment gear, equipment, supplies, special requests, and weekly supplies), updates to inventory database report, updates to tracking spreadsheets (i.e. budget tracking, purchase order balances, gear, equipment, vehicles, rehab, and other spreadsheets as directed by the Logistics Manager), response to emails regarding repairs, scheduling, pickups, and other communications, prepares data as directed and provides information to Supervisor.
- Assists with specialized projects to support administrative or operational processes of the department.
- Assists with the resolution of minor routine administrative and operational problems.
- Receives, sorts, distributes or delivers incoming and outbound mail.
- Assists other Logistics Technicians with loading, unloading, pickups, deliveries, ordering, restocking, and any other tasks assigned by the logistics manager.
- Assists the EMS Logistics Technician with the movement or pick up of standby’s to ensure efficiency and decrease the need for multiple trips.
- Attends meetings for the dissemination of information as required by the Logistics Manager.
- Attends training whether provided by the county or vendor representatives that can be applied to current position for personal or departmental improvement directed by the logistics manager.
- Performs duties as assigned/necessary which are related, or logical in assignment to the position.
- Ensures that during an emergency activation that all appropriate paperwork and gear or equipment tracking is completed thoroughly and accurately for record purposes.
- Maintains and keeps all county training and certifications update each year for county records.
- Maintains and keeps all NFPA required training and certifications regarding PPE Gear, equipment, and tracking up to date each year for county records and NFPA regulations and requirements.
- Assists with the annual inventory process and maintaining a perpetual inventory control and facilitating the purchasing of supplies as required; ensures all functions under charge are performed in accordance with Florida Statutes, County Administrative Code, NFPA and established procedures, departmental guidelines, and regulatory requirements applicable to the work.
- Serves as a contact with vendors for researching and resolving problems related to receiving of supplies and expediting procurement of goods.
High School Diploma or GED.
