💼 Position Summary

The General Manager (GM) is the senior leader responsible for all facets of park operations, ensuring a safe, unforgettable, and profitable guest experience while fostering a high-performance, people‑centered culture. The GM oversees operational strategy, guest experience, safety standards, financial performance, team leadership, and community or partner engagement.

You will serve as the face of Island H2O—an inspiring, visible leader committed to excellence and continuous innovation.

🎯 Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
  • Direct all daily park operations, ensuring seamless and safe functioning of attractions, food & beverage, retail, admissions, events, and guest services.
  • Maintain exceptional lifeguarding and aquatic safety standards—a core to the Island H2O experience.
  • Lead the implementation of advanced technologies (wearables, AI-assisted monitoring, cashless systems) to drive efficiency and elevate guest engagement.
Guest Experience & Brand Excellence
  • Champion a guest‑first culture that aligns with Island H2O's reputation for delivering vibrant, memorable experiences.
  • Ensure consistent high-quality service across all guest touchpoints, including new and seasonal signature events.
  • Innovate programming to match evolving market trends and create compelling attendance drivers.
Financial & Strategic Management
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, cost controls, and profitability targets.
  • Leverage dynamic pricing models and seasonal strategies to optimize revenue.
  • Monitor KPIs related to attendance, guest satisfaction, labor, operations, and safety.
Team Leadership & Culture Building
  • Recruit, train, and inspire a diverse team of full‑time and seasonal employees.
  • Foster a culture of authentic leadership, cross‑training, loyalty, and empowerment-values shown to be core to the park's successful operations.
  • Promote continuous improvement and team member development.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Uphold stringent aquatic safety, sanitation, and compliance protocols—essential in industry-leading parks.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.

  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in theme parks, water parks, attractions, hospitality, or recreation industries.
  • Strong financial management and operational expertise.
  • Proven ability to lead high‑performance teams in a fast‑paced, guest‑centric environment.
  • Experience with aquatic safety, risk management, or lifeguard operations strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable integrating new technologies and data‑driven improvements.
