The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents in accordance with federal and state regulations, physician orders, and facility policies and procedures. The RN supervises nursing staff, coordinates resident care, administers medications and treatments, and ensures the highest quality of care and resident safety within the skilled nursing facility.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for residents.
Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by physicians.
Monitor residents’ conditions and document changes accurately and timely.
Develop and update individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Supervise and direct Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other nursing personnel.
Respond promptly to resident emergencies and changes in condition.
Ensure compliance with Florida Board of Nursing standards, CMS regulations, OSHA guidelines, and facility policies.
Maintain accurate medical records and nursing documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and healthcare team members.
Participate in shift reports, care conferences, quality assurance activities, and in-service training.
Promote resident rights, dignity, privacy, and independence.
Assist with infection control measures and safety protocols.
Perform admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
Active and unrestricted Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current CPR/BLS certification required.
Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience preferred; skilled nursing or long-term care experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing long-term care facilities.
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Ability to supervise staff and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
