Clinical Ladder participation is voluntary. Salary adjustments are determined by program eligibility, advancement level, and organizational guidelines.
Up to $20,000 Sign-on Bonus and $3,000 Relocation Assistance available for eligible candidates (see terms below)

12-month Full-time Employment Contract Required for Sign-On and Relocation
- One (1) year of applicable experience
- Internal Candidates and Rehires within 12 months are not eligible
- Must live 50 miles outside of campus address
- Rehires that are less than 12 months from separation date are not eligible

PrimaryJob Responsibilities
- Monitor performance of nursing staff, provide feedback, conduct appraisals, and implement improvement plans to ensure clinical and professional standards are met.
- Foster professional growth by identifying training needs, organizing educational programs, and mentoring staff to enhance their skills and career progression.
- Resolve conflicts among staff promptly and effectively using mediation techniques to maintain a positive work environment and ensure team cohesion.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
- Mentor and precept new staff by providing hands-on training, feedback, and fostering professional development.
- Ability to lead the employees within the Cardiothoracic Surgical unit in the delivery of patient care
- Ability to lead performance improvement initiatives on the Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit
- Ability to think critically in relation to the operations of the Cardiothoracic Surgical unit and delivery of complex patient care
- Ability to manage the business of healthcare delivery on the Cardiothoracic Surgical unit
- Able to assist and mentor others in relation to the complex technology utilized on the Cardiothoracic Surgical unit
- Excellent clinical practice knowledge and is able to apply this knowledge to the unit setting
- Ability to influence relationships and behaviors in relation to meeting the needs of the unit
- Acts as a role model for professionalism on the Cardiothoracic Surgical unit
- Specific skills as delineated by the Cardiothoracic Surgical unit (see competencies)

- Department specific advanced competencies
- Associate's of Nursing [Required]
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
- Master's of Nursing [Preferred]
- 1+ experience in cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, or cardiac ICU setting or cardiovascular operating room experience [Required]
- Prior management experience [Preferred]
- Successful completion of traineeship for one (1) year minimum.
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Required]
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)[Preferred]
