The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish Lens Crafters as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. The role focuses on providing exceptional customer service and creating high-quality eyewear, while supporting the store’s vision and quality standards.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Welcome all customers and set expectations.
- Custom‑fit glasses and accurately place prescriptions in lenses.
- Act as a leader in optical acumen.
- Take and record measurements; adjust and fit eyewear with attention to detail and ensure the final product meets standards and customer needs.
- Assist team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
- Use technology accurately and efficiently despite time pressure and customer volume.
- Proactively explore root causes of issues, develop solutions, and ensure customers are fully satisfied.
- Manage time effectively and prioritize competing tasks.
- Strive to achieve exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies.
- Maintain store appearance, cleanliness, attractiveness, and organization.
- Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Show resourcefulness, self‑motivation, and a desire for continual learning, improvement, and results.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- State licensure.
- Optical dispensing experience.
- Strong customer‑service skills – communicator, listener, and team builder.
- Knowledge of current store merchandise.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Awareness of current fashion trends.
- Ability to sell and use an iPad or tablet.
- Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators.
- Embrace new technology and change.
- Previous customer service and retail experience.
Employee pay is determined by geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements.
