JOB SUMMARY:
Island H2O Water Park is seeking an energetic, outgoing Sales & Event Intern to support our Group Sales team. This role is ideal for someone interested in hospitality, tourism, event coordination & sales. You will assist with selling & coordinating catered events, birthday parties, church & youth group outings along with promoting third‑party ticket sales with hotels and local partners.
This internship offers hands‑on experience in group sales, event operations, tourism & guest engagement within a fast‑paced entertainment environment.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Group Sales team with outreach, lead generation & follow‑up for group bookings, including catered events, birthday parties, church groups, youth groups & corporate outings.
- Assist with answering inbound leads via phone & email.
- Support third‑party sales efforts with local hotels, concierge desks, and tourism partners.
- Help prepare proposals, event orders, confirmations & sales materials as needed.
- Participate in on‑site event coordination, including check‑in, guest support & ensuring event details are executed accurately.
- Assist with staffing and representing Island H2O at off‑site promotional events, hotel activations & community functions.
- Support the creation of sales‑focused content for email outreach, partner communications & group sales marketing materials.
- Collaborate with operations, catering & guest services teams to ensure smooth event execution.
- Provide general administrative support to the group sales department as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School level education
Experience:
Some experience preferred within the theme park, entertainment, or hospitality industry. This is an entry level position with training provided.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong writing, communication & organizational skills.
- Comfortable interacting with guests, partners & large groups in a professional and friendly manner.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong written and oral communication skills for both internal and external audiences.
- Computer skills and knowledge of business-related software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point a plus.
- Strong commitment to maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of park, division, and department information as requested by the company.
- Ability to troubleshoot situations without delay and act accordingly.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including evenings, holidays, overnight events and weekends.
- Must be able to maintain positive, respectful relationships and work effectively with all internal and external constituencies, including team members, community leaders and senior management.
- Must have a proactive, goal-oriented, can-do attitude. Positive and effective customer service skills.
- Must be able to pass a criminal, drug, alcohol, and social security background check.
