GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Set-up Laborer prepares and installs assorted materials in production molds for pre-pour quality inspection in anticipation of pouring concrete.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Must possess basic math skills.
- Ability to read a tape measure with absolute accuracy.
- Should be capable of acquiring skills at reading shop tickets and interpreting measurements and applications of specific hardware.
- Physical abilities to climb, stoop, bend, and work in unusual positions at varying heights above floor level for extended periods.
- Physical abilities to tolerate work in extreme environments (heat and cold), often outside.
- Requires lifting ability at or above 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Should have skills/ability to learn to operate an overhead gantry crane.
- Ability to work 10‑to‑13‑hour days if schedule requires.
- Ability to work flexible hours, according to schedule.
- Must be willing to be flexible in work assignments, able to work in different departments as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Prior experience in construction/building trades helpful but not required.
- Physically able to lift to 75 lbs. occasionally.
- Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently.
- Ability to move around for up to 12 hours per day.
- Moderate to elevated risk of exposure to unusual elements.
- Moderate to elevated risk of safety precautions.
- Moderate to high exposure to production environment.
- Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather related) (plant specific).
