Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Manager

A growing construction business is seeking a Controller to build and lead the company’s finance function. This is a high-impact opportunity for a hands‑on CPA who wants to move beyond traditional reporting and play a strategic role in shaping the financial direction of a scaling organization.
About the Role  Reporting directly to senior leadership, this position will oversee the company’s full finance function while building the processes, reporting structure, and controls needed to support continued growth. The successful candidate will act as a strategic business partner to leadership and help drive stronger financial decision‑making across the organization.
What You’ll Do   Take ownership of all day‑to‑day financial operations and transition the business to a more structured internal finance function
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
Develop and maintain budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow models to support business planning
Provide leadership with financial analysis and strategic insights to support operational and investment decisions
Establish internal controls, financial processes, and reporting standards appropriate for a growing business
Partner with operational leaders to evaluate profitability, margins, and overall business performance
Monitor working capital, cash flow, and liquidity to ensure the business is well‑positioned for growth
Improve invoicing, collections, and payment processes to enhance financial efficiency
Build dashboards and reporting tools to provide timely visibility into key business metrics
Support implementation of systems, processes, and tools as the finance function evolves
Assist in building and mentoring a finance team over time as the organization grows
What You Bring   Progressive experience in accounting/finance, including leadership responsibility within a growing organization
Strong financial reporting, forecasting, and business partnering capabilities
Experience building or improving finance processes, controls, and reporting frameworks
Ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
Hands‑on, entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
