VP, Accounting & Finance

A growing company in the Waterloo region is seeking a highly experienced and strategic  VP of Accounting and Finance  to join its leadership team. This pivotal role involves overseeing the finance and administration functions, acting as a strategic advisor to the CEO, and engaging with executive leadership and ownership on critical financial decisions and strategies. Responsibilities

Provide day‑to‑day oversight and leadership to the finance and administration team, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, month‑end close, IT, and data analysis.

Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO/President, offering high‑level financial guidance and support.

Engage with executive leadership and company owners on key financial decisions and strategies.

Lead the successful implementation of a new ERP system.

Manage cash flow and capital assets effectively to support steady company growth.

Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance, particularly with international tax implications.

Collaborate closely with the executive leadership team.

Qualifications

Substantial experience operating at both executional and strategic levels within finance, ideally 8+ years of senior leadership experience.

CPA required.

Demonstrated ability to lead an ERP implementation.

Demonstrated experience in growth environments and the ability to wear multiple hats.

International experience, particularly with US tax implications and global VAT tax.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead individual contributors and drive performance.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.

Experience in manufacturing or project‑based costing is advantageous.
