AECOM is seeking an  Electrical Department Manager   to lead and grow our Electrical Engineering team in the Kitchener/London region. This is a visible leadership role for a licensed electrical engineer who is motivated to strengthen team capability, ensure high-quality delivery, and help shape the next stage of AECOM’s electrical practice in Southwestern Ontario. This position is to fill an existing position within the team.
The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary electrical delivery across buildings and infrastructure markets, while leveraging AECOM’s national and global technical networks.
What You’ll Do    This role blends people leadership, technical oversight, client engagement, and practice growth.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead and develop the team:
Mentor and support electrical engineers, designers, and technical staff while fostering a positive, accountable, growth-oriented culture.
Plan and strengthen delivery capability:
Set direction for staffing, workload planning, technical capability, quality, and succession readiness.
Provide senior technical leadership:
Serve as a senior technical leader on selected projects, provide design guidance, engineering judgment, quality reviews, and practical problem-solving.
Oversee electrical design across markets:
Support delivery across buildings, institutions, commercial and industrial facilities, water and wastewater, transportation, sustainability, and related infrastructure markets.
Guide core electrical systems design:
Oversee medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution, lighting, life safety, communications, controls, and related building and infrastructure systems.
Collaborate nationally:
Represent Kitchener/London within the national electrical practice and collaborate with other office electrical managers to support an integrated national practice.
Build client relationships and support growth:
Strengthen trusted client partnerships, support proposals and pursuits, and help grow the regional electrical practice.
Improve project outcomes:
Promote clear scope definition, resource planning, technical coordination, schedule awareness, quality management, and early risk identification.
Champion innovation and sustainability:
Advance sustainable, energy-efficient, and future-ready design solutions.
Represent AECOM externally and internally:
Communicate with professionalism and confidence with clients, internal leaders, project teams, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements      Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering + eight (8) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Licensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario.
Demonstrated electrical design and delivery experience in consulting, infrastructure, design, or multidisciplinary project environments.
Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and decision-making skills.
Proven ability to mentor engineers, designers, and technical staff.
Holding or the ability to obtain minimum Reliability Level security clearance.
Preferred Requirements      20+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience in consulting, design, or design-build environments
