We are seeking an Account Manager to join our team in the Waterloo Region.
The Account Manager will provide support to the sales consultants and the client servicing team to ensure client focused account support and relationship management is provided to external Clients and internal consultants. The Account Manager is responsible for the set-up of new groups, providing professional customer service and support to clients, benefit consultants, brokers and customer service representatives for an assigned block of business.
The Employee is expected to also focus on client retention and up-selling to the block of business assigned to the Employee. Client retention is a very important part of the Employee’s duties.
The Account Manager will:
Manage and retain an assigned business blockBe a strategic thinker and able to offer innovative solutionsNetwork and Build Relationships Ability to cultivate strong collaborative relationships with external and internal colleaguesability to cultivate a robust creditable relationship with clientsConduct Plan Member education sessions when requestedEnsure necessary tools, benchmarking and renewal reports are prepared and delivered to clientsDevelop communications required for plan sponsors and their employees where necessaryParticipate in industry conferences, seminars, etc. to promote services and keep abreast of industry trends and activitiesMaintain deep knowledge of administration, including in house and carrier best practices, and liaise with implementation stakeholders as neededDefine service standards with clients and manage account lifecycle according to set service agreement/commitmentEnsure service standards are met and all deliverables are complete and client-focusedTo be successful as an Account Manager with People Corporation, you will need:
Minimum 2 - 3 years' experience in group benefits in a client-facing role (required)Ability to act as a brand ambassador or key liaison for cross-functional services associated with People CorporationAn understanding of the group benefits industry, including funding arrangementsCompletion or the ability to complete GBA and/or Life License Qualification Program (preferred)Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentA positive attitude and strong team player who works well with internal and external stakeholdersA solutions and results-oriented individual who demonstrates excellent problem-solving skillsThe ability to meet deadlines and provide deliverables as identified promptlyProficiency and comfort working with multi-channel technologyA valid driver’s License and vehicleTime management- prioritizing tasks and responsibilities to ensure optimal productivityStrong communication skills - must be able to articulate ideas, provide instructions and actively listen to team members and colleaguesWhat's in it for you:
