Bilingual (French and English) Field Service TechnicianThis role works directly with customers, tackling technical challenges and delivering exceptional on‑site service of Benshaw motor control products. The position is part of a global team with a primary focus in Canada and South America.

CA $34.98 - CA $43.72 per hour
What you will do- Travel up to 75% of the time (including international trips)
- Perform diagnostic testing, fault isolation and repair of industrial equipment both in‑house and at customer sites
- Programming of starters and drives
- Troubleshoot and service electrical motor control systems, including Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Solid State Starters, across voltage ranges from 120V to 13.8kV
- Execute board‑level diagnostics and repairs using schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
- Accurately document service activities, including failure analysis, corrective actions and customer data entry within ERP system
- Deliver technical support to customers via phone and on‑site, including system troubleshooting and operational guidance
- Evaluate and validate warranty claims in collaboration with the Service Supervisor based on failure analysis and service history
- Identify and recommend improvements to technical documentation, service procedures and troubleshooting methodologies
- Ensure compliance with company standards, safety protocols and quality requirements while maintaining an organized workspace
- Adhere to all applicable health and safety regulations, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc flash and PPE requirements, while working on energized and de‑energized motor control systems in field environments
- Participate in on‑call rotations, responding to field service requests and critical equipment issues as required
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support service operations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
- Fluency in French (written and oral) is a must
- Valid driver's license and passport (must be able to travel outside of Canada)
- Completion of an Electrician program, and Electrical/Electronic Technician or Technologist Certificate, or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the electrical field
- Thorough troubleshooting skills specifically related to electrical/electronic equipment
- Excellent ability to communicate with customers by understanding technical knowledge and abilities
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
- Experience with motor controls, down to board level, is considered an asset
