Forklift Field Service Technician

• Compensation Range: $30 to $40 per hour (base pay only; overall compensation depends on location, skillset, education, and experience)

• Perform preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and repair all forms of customer equipment.
• Complete each repair job in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Work and manage workloads independently.
• Properly complete and submit all required paperwork.
• Manage company vehicle and on-board parts inventory.
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time.

• Two years of forklift repair experience is highly desired.
• Previous field experience is highly preferable.
• Strong working knowledge of electric and liquid propane units.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude.
• Possess own tools.
• Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license to drive the company vehicle.
• Computer skills:
  Hyster TKC training software and Yale/Hyster contact management system.
• Language skills - intermediate: read/interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before customer or employee groups.
• Mathematical skills - basic: ability to add and subtract.
• Reasoning ability - intermediate: apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Physical/Sensory Functions: regular standing, walking, hand use, reaching; frequent talking/hearing; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Vision: no special vision requirements.
• Lift and/or Move Functions: regular lift up to 10 pounds; frequent lift 11–25 pounds; occasional lift 26–100+ pounds.
• Work Environment: regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions; occasional wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat (non-weather); risk of electrical shock, vibration.
