Powerline Technician Apprentice Waterloo

Build power distribution skills as a Powerline Technician Apprentice with Valard Construction in the Kitchener and Waterloo area. Work with Journeyperson technicians on electrical facilities.

Valard Construction seeks apprentices registered through an applicable provincial program, including Levels One through Four. You will support distribution construction while gaining hours toward your Journeyperson Powerline Technician Certificate. The work includes energized circuits, line trucks, underground facilities, and specialized equipment. Local residence or reasonable commuting distance is required.

• Install and inspect electrical distribution facilities
• Maintain poles, towers, and guy wires
• Splice, solder, and insulate conductors
• Install underground cables, transformers, and pedestals
• Operate line trucks and associated equipment

• Enrollment as an Ontario Powerline Technician Apprentice
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract
• Knowledge of trade safety practices and requirements
• Willingness to work away from home
• Willingness to work varied shifts and join CUSW
