Environmental Field Scientist

Join AtkinsRéalis’s Minerals and Metals team as an Environmental Field Scientist in Kitimat, BC. Contribute your expertise through extensive fieldwork and robust environmental assessments to support industrial clients across the region.

In this role, you will perform vital environmental field programs, emphasizing soil and water sampling alongside compliance monitoring. Candidates must possess a diploma or degree in a related field, with a minimum of three years of experience in environmental site assessment, preferably in mining. The position requires frequent travel throughout northwestern BC, requiring independence and adaptability in remote settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct soil, water, and waste sampling and monitoring

• Calibrate equipment and manage field data and documentation

• Oversee soil investigations and remediation via testing and reporting

• Coordinate field logistics including inventory and safety compliance

• Schedule projects and support managers in timely delivery

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science or related

• At least 3 years in environmental assessment and remediation

• Eligibility for relevant professional memberships

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean record

• Experience in technical report writing is an asset
