Senior Environmental Monitor at Skeena Gold

Skeena Gold + Silver Limited is looking for a Senior Environmental Monitor to oversee various environmental programs at the Eskay Creek mine in northwest British Columbia. This site-based role includes mentoring, environmental compliance, and data management to support a sustainable mining operation.

You will play a critical role in supporting environmental monitoring efforts within the mining sector. The Senior Environmental Monitor reports to the Environmental Manager and provides mentorship to junior personnel while coordinating environmental data collection. Key areas of focus include surface water, groundwater, air quality, and ecological monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct surface and groundwater monitoring as per licenses

• Mentor Environmental Technicians and Monitors

• Compile and report environmental monitoring data

• Support wildlife and vegetation monitoring efforts

• Maintain regulatory compliance documentation

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Environmental Science or related field

• Minimum 5 years of monitoring experience in industrial settings

• Proficiency in data management and GIS applications

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Experience handling remote environmental conditions
