We are seeking an Environmental Lead to join our Infrastructure Environmental Monitoring (IEM) group for a 6 month contract in Kitimat, BC. You will work on a fast paced and dynamic construction project. There is potential for the contract to be extended. Shifts will be 2 weeks on / 1 week off. We offer fly-in / fly-out to Kitimat from anywhere in AB or BC, and you will stay in a camp.

• Lead support for environmental technicians and consultants responsible for environmental monitoring on one large infrastructure project.
• Prepare environmental permits, licenses, and approvals from regulatory agencies in support of infrastructure projects.
• Prepare of a range of environmental compliance documents required for project approval and implementation, such as EMPs, environmental protection plans, and environmental work plans.
• Work with project development teams – including proponents, regulators, designers, and construction personnel – to address environmental management and protection measures during project planning and implementation.

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant environmental discipline (fisheries, aquatics, ecology, environmental science/studies).
• 10+ years of experience managing environmental aspects of infrastructure development projects.
• Relevant professional certification (e.g., BIT/RPBio, RBTech, AAg, EPt, etc.) or ability to obtain is an asset.
• Experience interpreting and working with federal and provincial environmental regulatory and permitting requirements associated with infrastructure development projects.
• Experience working in large, multi-disciplinary teams is essential.
