We are a Plaistow, NH based company with work located primarily in the Northeast Region. Applying for a position in a posted location does not guarantee assignment to that location. The workforce needs of Methuen’s projects determine the assignment of all staff, and therefore teammates are required to travel to various project site locations.

Methuen Construction is seeking a Mechanical Foreman to plan and direct the efficient use of people, equipment, and material; to obtain high quality specified construction within the job budget; to motivate the workforce; and complete the job safely and on time.

The job of Foreman in the area of safety will have been successfully performed when:

• Teammates under the Foreman’s supervision understand and follow safety regulations and procedures set by the Company and governing safety agencies
• Tool box meetings are held on the first workday of every week to discuss company safety matters and job‑related safety issues and forms are filled out and returned to office
• Teammates who are trained and qualified to perform a specific operation are the only workers assigned to such work
• Unsafe equipment is shut down and the Superintendent notified immediately so the equipment can be replaced or repaired
• Work places within my control are kept neat, potential hazards are corrected immediately
• Each accident on the jobsite is reported to the Superintendent immediately and an accident report is completed within 24 hours
• The Foreman has in his possession all Dig Safe numbers and all utilities have located their underground property; and all overhead wires have been adequately evaluated and protected
• The Foreman is properly trained as a “competent person” on his/her crew and familiar with all OSHA trenching requirements before underground excavation is started.
• Emergency numbers for hospitals, doctors, ambulances, etc. are identified and the Foreman is aware of their location.

The job of the Foreman in the area of cost control will have been satisfactorily performed when:

• The crew is motivated to work efficiently to complete the job within budget
• Regular meetings are held with the Superintendent, or Service PM, to discuss the status of the budget and develop plans to meet or exceed the budget
• The Foreman has communicated goals to the crew on a daily and weekly basis; invited their suggestions for meeting those goals; and adjusted methods to meet the goals, if they are not being met
• The company tools and equipment are properly used and maintained
• Daily timecards and logs are properly and completely completed to include information on labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment usage, location and type of work performed, visitors, conversations, weather conditions and any pertinent job conditions
• Extra work or back charges are properly identified on the timecard with a complete description of the work completed, materials used, sub‑contractors involved and signed by an authorized representative of the owner
