Position: ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN with Security Clearance
Duties Help
* You will prepare test software - Test Procedures (TP's) for all assigned non-nuclear electrical, mechanical and structural systems and maintain system status.
* You will oversee and provide technical guidance in the preparation of all Test Procedures to all personnel in the branch working on assigned systems for conformance, with respect to the proper application of test engineering principles.
* You will review all work accomplished on all assigned systems, ensuring work has been properly documented and tested.
* You will maintain marked-up system test tracking diagrams for special projects, to track system work/test and rework/retest status.
* You will conduct special studies, which involve unique and complex test engineering problems. Requirements Help Conditions of employment
* Must be a US Citizen.
* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
* This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* This is a bargaining unit position Qualifications GS-12 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience making test planning recommendations to improve established testing and control methods.
* Experience with ship building practices applicable to the design, construction, grooming and testing of a submarine.
* Experience reading and interpreting schematic diagrams, specifications, sketches, Tech Manuals, Process Instructions, Test Procedures and drawings related to trade skills.
* Experience applying knowledge of Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) and Weapons systems, including interface system/subsystems that support Nuclear or Combat systems testing.
* Experience with the functions and capabilities of the Shipyard to assess, anticipate and respond to the complete spectrum of system technical alterations, procedural changes, shifting schedules and unusual demands involved in the implementation and conduct of HM&E and CSO Weapons test programs. GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience making test planning recommendations to improve established testing and control methods.
* Experience with ship building practices applicable to the design, construction, grooming and testing of a submarine.
* Experience reading and interpreting schematic diagrams, specifications, sketches, Tech Manuals, Process Instructions, Test Procedures and drawings related to trade skills.
* Experience applying knowledge of Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) and Weapons systems, including interface system/subsystems that support Nuclear or Combat systems testing.
