Supervisory Engineering Technician Security Clearance

Position: SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will direct the functions of the Trouble Desk and staff of mechanical or electrical/electronics engineers and technicians.
* You will provide coordination with other shipyard codes for the prompt resolution of waterfront problems outside the capability of the Waterfront Trouble Desk.
* You will direct and coordinate the establishment of new policies, instructions and procedures for the analysis, progress, and control of the workload of the Trouble Desk.
* You will provide review of work accomplished by employees; evaluating their performance; and make decisions on engineering or other problems presented by the Operations Department for the assigned ship's availability's.
* You will write correspondence to identify potential technical issues for ship repair or maintenance projects.
* You will brief management officials on the progress towards achieving engineering project objectives.
* You will provide engineering services to manage the Engineering and Planning effort for Refueling overhauls. Requirements Conditions of employment

* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
* Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .
* This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience with fundamental skills in a variety of disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, electronic engineering and naval architecture associated with the design and overhaul and repair of submarines.
* Experience with pertinent policies, regulations, procedures and overall plans and objectives of Naval Shipyard design functions.
* Experience in planning, organizing, and directing large-scale work assignments.
* Experience evaluating the performance of the Trouble Desk requirements and recommending organizational changes. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:
