Port Harbor Marine is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Marine Parts Assistant to join our team s role involves supporting the parts department by managing inventory, assisting customers, and providing vital support to the service department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for marine equipment and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in receiving, stocking, and organizing marine parts and supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and assist with regular stock audits to ensure that all parts are properly accounted for.
- Customer Service:
Greet customers both in-person and over the phone, assisting them with inquiries about parts, accessories, and services. - Provide technical information when necessary and ensure customer satisfaction with prompt and courteous service.
- Process parts orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of parts to customers and the service department.
- Assist in preparing shipping documentation for outgoing parts.
- Support to Service Department:
Collaborate closely with service technicians to identify parts needed for repairs and maintenance. - Assist in sourcing and procuring specialized parts in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Product Knowledge:
Maintain knowledge of marine parts and accessories, including their applications and compatibility. - Stay current with manufacturer updates and industry trends to provide informed advice to customers.
- Record Keeping:
Maintain organized records of parts transactions, customer inquiries, and inventory levels. - Enter data into inventory management systems accurately.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in marine service or parts preferred.
- Strong understanding of marine parts and accessories, including knowledge of various boat types and systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office, inventory management systems).
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks associated with parts handling.
- Monday to Friday
