Job DetailsScheduled hours: 7am to 2:30pm, Monday – Friday.
Pay: $19.29 plus $4.93 Health & Wellness ($24.22 total).
Job Summary:
Performs custodial maintenance duties, including dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, and cleaning and restocking restrooms.
- Performs routine custodial duties, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
- Performs routine maintenance of custodial equipment and supplies.
- Empties trash receptacles and disposes of trash into compactors and/or dumpsters and bags trash for proper disposal.
- Unlocks doors, ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas.
- Reports needs and concerns to Project Manager, including checking supply levels.
- Ensures proper care in using and maintaining equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Assists in on-the-job training of new staff on routine procedures.
- Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Less than high school; no previous experience required.
- Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Ability to understand verbal instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Ability to understand written and verbal communications.
The position requires regular routine dusting, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, and cleaning restrooms; routine maintenance of custodial equipment; and power equipment to buff and restore floors and shampoo carpets.
Conditions of Employment- Must meet program eligibility requirements.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
- Must pass a government background to acquire naval access badge.
- Considerable physical activity; heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
- The work environment involves exposure to hazards or physical risks, requiring basic safety precautions.
- Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
