MICRO MARKET Associate

Overview

Performs duties within the Micro Market and vending machines, ensuring functionality and operation, maintenance, and customer service. Operates a motor vehicle for product delivery and machine servicing.

• Maintains Exchange‑owned machines and Micro Markets daily, inspecting and replenishing products.
• Ensures product shelf‑life dates are adhered to, removes expired items, sanitizes areas, and prevents spoilage.
• Greets and assists customers, suggesting complementary items, and surveys preferences.
• Ensures areas are fully stocked and merchandise is neatly arranged; communicates with supervisors regarding inventory.
• Participates in department meetings and shares ideas for service improvements and sales goals.
• Sets up and maintains prices and visual merchandising programs; keeps current price lists.
• Maintains a clean and orderly micro market, sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning counter‑tops and coolers, and emptying trash cans.
• Assists with annual reset of merchandise to uphold product adjacencies, branding, and placement standards.
• Operates laptops, tablets, scanners, and handheld devices to perform inventory, receiving, and ordering.
• Relocates and installs new machines, cleans interior/outside, and adjusts dispensing units.
• Collects money from vending machines and micro‑market kiosks according to schedule, verifying cash with vendors.
• Records machine servicing data via handheld devices, prepares cash‑collection slips, clears coin jams, and processes refunds.
• Controls inventory for micro markets, trucks, routes, and vending systems.
• Collects turn‑in money bags, verifies cash receipts, prepares daily cash receipt slips, and arranges deposits.
• Interacts with customers and coworkers professionally, adhering to NEX dress code and uniform standards.
• Develops product knowledge, communicates product characteristics, promotional sets, price points, and care to customers.
• Operates a motor vehicle across the geographical area, loading/unloading merchandise with care, and prepares daily trip reports.
• Maintains preventive maintenance schedule for the vehicle, monitors fuel level, retains receipts, and cleans vehicle interior.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Valid state driver’s license or commercial driver’s license (CDL) required.
• Proven knowledge and skill in safe motor vehicle operation.
• Ability to pass relevant background checks (e.g., Federal, DOD security clearance).
• Completion of the GSA Defensive Driving Course.

• One year progressive, responsible clerical, office, or retail sales experience, demonstrating customer interaction.
• Half‑year of academic study above high‑school level may substitute for each six months of experience.
• One year of progressively responsible experience in retail, vending store operations, warehouse duties, or related functions.

• Regularly lifts and transports moderately heavy objects up to 40 lb.; may occasionally handle heavier items with assistance or equipment.
• Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and standing required.
• Work performed both inside and outside, with potential exposure to bad weather.
