Payroll Specialist

Klamath Falls, OR
Temporary Position | Full-Time | $25.47/hour

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a Payroll Specialist to join our client’s team on a temporary basis. This is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who is detail-oriented, comfortable working with confidential information, and understands payroll reporting and compliance.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports for state and federal agencies.
  • Reconcile payroll deductions, benefits, vendor invoices, and payroll liability accounts.
  • Complete required payroll tax and regulatory reporting, including quarterly and annual reports.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and make corrections as needed.
  • Process third-party payroll payments and related documentation.
  • Assist with PERS reporting.
  • Support Payroll Clerk I duties when needed.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and agreements.
  • Respond to payroll-related questions and requests for information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous payroll experience with a strong understanding of payroll processes and reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with confidential information professionally.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a supportive team member.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with payroll, accounting, HR, or financial software.
  • An Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Five years of related experience and/or training may be considered in place of a degree.
  • Current Oregon driver's license.
Computer Skills

Experience with spreadsheets, word processing, accounting or financial software, HR systems, and payroll systems is preferred.

Experience with
Springbrook Payroll is a plus.

Schedule & Requirements
  • Full-time, Monday-Friday
  • 8-hour shifts; exact schedule determined by management
  • Must be dependable and consistently punctual
  • Successful candidate must pass a criminal background check
  • Drug screening may be required
