Position Overview
Oregon Tech is accepting applications for Art and Design undergraduate Adjunct Instructors for the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Department. The role involves teaching General Education and minor courses in Arts, Literature, and Philosophy, including Introduction to Drawing, Watercolors, Design and Aesthetics, Introduction to Graphic Design, Art History, and other related courses.
Teaching Modality and LocationAppointments may include courses offered online, in person on campus, hybrid, or related lab formats. Primary campus locations include the Klamath Falls campus, the Portland-Metro campus (Wilsonville, OR), and online. Teaching may also be conducted remotely/online within the United States.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver course content for assigned Art and Design courses.
- Design and administer assessments, assignments, and evaluations.
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
- Provide academic advising and support to students in General Education and minor courses.
- Master’s Degree or higher in Art, Design, Graphics Design, or a related field; years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree.
- Experience teaching at the college level.
- Experience using Canvas or a similar Learning Management System (e.g., Blackboard).
- Experience using virtual meeting and collaboration tools for teaching, such as Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams.
This pool will be accessed only when an opening or need arises. Your credentials will remain active as long as the pool position is available but no more than two years. After two years, if you are still interested, you must reapply to the most current adjunct pool.
