Position Summary
- The Student Involvement & Belonging (SIB) Coordinator creates and supports a holistic student experience responsible for supporting the vision, initiatives, programs, and daily operations for Klamath Falls students. The SIB Coordinator will co-lead Klamath Falls campus Student Involvement & Belonging programs and initiatives; collaborating with partners across the university campus to ensure a student-centered approach to the creation and implementation of programming that enhances a student's sense of belonging and increases student's leadership development and cultural competency.
The SIB Coordinator will use research, data, and assessment to lead the university in developing and implementing a co-curricular journey in which student's belonging and leadership development experience will be enhanced. The SIB Coordinator is responsible for the Klamath Falls student involvement and campus activities through providing advising and support for Registered Student Organizations, creating Klamath Falls campus-wide student engagement opportunities, such as large-scale social events including Music Garden.
The SIB Coordinator will develop, student leadership and cultural competency development, and diversity and belonging programming; and support the operations and programming of Student Involvement & Belonging in collaboration with the Director of SIB and Assistant Director of SIB (Portland-Metro). Student Involvement & Belonging provides programs and services students need to achieve academic, personal, and professional goals. We provide programs, services, and partners with other divisions to provide support, enhance personal wellness, develop leadership and communication skills, and promote a strong sense of community.
We encourage students to get involved on campus, approach faculty and staff with ideas, questions and concerns and take advantage of the resources that will help them succeed.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with one (1) year of professional experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Experience working with any combination of student organizations, student leadership, orientation programs, campus activities, diversity awareness, a multicultural office, cultural programming, or with diverse populations. Ability to work, communicate, and collaborate in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings effectively and respectfully.
Excellent interpersonal communication and oral presentation skills. Excellent professional writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) or more years of experience in higher education institutions, event management, and/or driving student engagement through technology. Strong customer service orientation. One (1) or more years supervising and/or advising student staff.
