GLL Instructor
The Global Languages and Learning (GLL) Department provides bilingual students with effective instruction and support services designed to meet diverse educational, workforce, and personal development goals. Programs are tailored to student needs and include wraparound support services, education and career guidance, small-group instruction, and individualized support. Staff work collaboratively to meet the mission and objectives of the GLL Department.
The GLL Instructor contributes to the success of Klamath Community College's Global Languages and Learning programs by providing high-quality instruction that supports student learning, skill development, and educational advancement. The instructor is responsible for teaching adult learners in a variety of educational settings and subject areas, including basic skills, language acquisition, workforce preparation, life skills, and other community education offerings. Instruction may be delivered in Spanish and/or English, depending on program needs.
The instructor supports student retention, persistence, and successful transitions to postsecondary education, workforce training, employment opportunities, military service, and other personal or professional goals. The position is responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment, monitoring student progress, and contributing to program development and continuous improvement.

- Contributes to the success of GLL programs by providing quality instruction and support activities.
- Performs all essential duties in English and/or Spanish as required.
- Teaches course content using instructional methodologies appropriate to the audience and subject matter, including group discussion, technology-enhanced instruction, online learning, and computer-based learning environments.
- Designs and delivers instructional and supplemental materials that meet the needs of learners with a wide range of educational backgrounds, skill levels, and learning styles.
- Provides instruction in Spanish and/or English as appropriate to program objectives and student needs.
- Participates in instructor evaluation processes and assesses student learning outcomes, modifying instructional strategies based on assessment results and feedback.
- Cultivates a variety of teaching approaches to provide quality learning experiences for a diverse student population.
- Teach in a variety of modalities, including online, face-to-face, hybrid, and hyflex classes
- Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish and fulfills instructional responsibilities, including creating course syllabi, evaluating student progress, maintaining records, and grading according to college policies and procedures.
- Tracks student attendance and engagement with an emphasis on retention, persistence, and student success.
- Aligns curriculum and instructional strategies with applicable program standards, state requirements, and best practices for adult education and workforce preparation.
- Plans and implements instructional activities for cohorts of adult learners participating in educational, workforce, language, and community-based learning programs.
- Collaborates with college staff and community partners to develop and implement contextualized curriculum and learning opportunities.
- Uses student and program data to improve instruction and collaborates with the Director and Coordinator regarding program updates and continuous improvement efforts.
- Develops program timelines and instructional schedules that support learner persistence and achievement.
- Participates in staff development activities, staff meetings, curriculum development, and program planning as required.
- Participates in student outreach and success strategies, including but not limited to:
- Contacting students regarding attendance and participation.
- Referring students to support services and resources, including tutoring, academic programs, workforce training, and community services.
- Assisting students in identifying and pursuing next steps related to education, employment, training, or other personal goals.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Work hours may include evenings and weekends, depending on program need
- If assigned, this position may require administrative work on grant-funded program activities and reporting.

Required:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in education or a related field.
