Job Overview
The Humanities and Social Sciences Department at Oregon Tech is a dynamic and growing academic unit that offers undergraduate degrees in Applied Psychology and Population Health Management, graduate degrees in Applied Behavior Analysis and Marriage and Family Therapy, and minors in Arts, Literature, Philosophy, Medical Sociology, and Psychology. The department supports Oregon Tech’s general education mission by providing a diverse collection of courses.
ResponsibilitiesAdjunct instructors will design, develop, and deliver undergraduate courses in history, including but not limited to Intro to History, History of Medicine, History of Energy, and Globalization. Courses may be offered online, in‑person, hybrid, or in other formats as required by state and local regulations. Instructors should be prepared to use Canvas or a similar learning management system and virtual collaboration tools such as Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams.
Qualifications- Master’s degree or higher in History or a related field.
- Experience teaching at the college level.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time, permanent basis at the time of hire; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or other employment‑based immigration support.
- Experience using Canvas or a similar learning management system (e.g., Blackboard).
- Experience with virtual meeting and collaboration tools for teaching, such as Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams.
