About the Role

The Teller is the first point of contact for most clients and plays a key role in delivering Columbia Bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards. With guidance from the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager, the Teller’s primary responsibilities include accurate and ethical banking transactions, cash handling, and compliance with bank procedures and regulations.

  • Perform teller transactions accurately and confidentially (deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, payments, transfers, check cashing).
  • Maintain and balance the cash drawer, process ATM double‑custody, balance credit card machine, and perform other daily cash handling duties.
  • Support branch daily tasks such as processing night‑drop deposits, balancing negotiable instruments, and processing returned mail.
  • Update lobby rate sheets and brochures as needed.
  • Mitigate risk by ensuring safekeeping of money and prompt accounting or transfer of funds.
  • Interact with internal and external clients, anticipating needs and providing proactive solutions and problem resolution.
  • Engage in meaningful conversations to uncover client needs, identify opportunities for additional bank products and services, and support referral goals for the branch.
  • Continuously deepen knowledge of Columbia Bank’s product and service offerings and stay current on changes.
About You
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One year of previous banking or customer service experience preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Ability to learn and comply with all bank policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with written numbers, words, and instructions.
  • Willingness to build relationships with clients and other bank associates.
Compensation

Pay range: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour (dependent upon non‑discriminatory factors such as experience, education, location). The role may be eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation.

Primary Location

540 Main Street, 1st Floor, Klamath Falls, OR 97601. Ability to work fully onsite at the posted location.
