Job Title
The position involves serving as Chief, Resources Management Division responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, evaluating and providing staff support for the full range of resources management activities in the Klamath Basin Area Office (KBAO).
The role also includes being the KBAO technical lead for all environmental compliance, contract administration, and lands management activities.
Additionally, the job requires negotiating and administering water service contracts, Warren Act contracts, and a variety of other contracts and agreements.
The position involves identifying KBAO programs and projects requiring National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) environmental compliance documentation, providing guidance in the preparation of such documents, and overseeing the preparation of a variety of environment impact statements, reports, assessments, and other documents.
The job also includes identifying potential environmental compliance issues related to proposed changes in operations and facilities. It requires consulting with and advising KBAO, Regional, and Department of Interior staff and officials in identifying such issues and in developing solutions.
The role directs the performance of studies and investigations relevant to power, habitat and recovery opportunities, and other special projects within the Klamath Project.
The position performs the full range of supervisory responsibilities for the Division within delegated authority and in compliance with the laws, policies and procedures governing merit promotion, performance management, conduct and discipline, training and development, employee recognition and position management.
The job also involves representing KBAO in a wide range of recurring and special one-time meetings or groups. This includes stakeholder work groups to develop comprehensive long-term solutions to complex resource issues, board meetings and other business meetings.
You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 2-5 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes. GS-13 Salary: $106,437 (step
1) - $138,370 (step 10). First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.
