- Gather and document permitting requirements for each entity and project
- Support the Permitting Manager in maintaining relationships with permitting agencies
- Coordinate permitting deliverables with internal and external engineering teams
- Create and update permitting schedules, trackers, permit lists, maps, and spreadsheets
- Apply permitting quality-control checklists to submittals
- Communicate with agencies regarding status updates and approval dates
- Follow up with agencies to keep permits moving through approval
- Prepare and submit approved permitting packages, applications, and supporting documentation
- Coordinate with field teams and the engineering firm to gather missing information
- Flag permit rejections and document details for root-cause review
- Provide status updates to the Permiting Manager
- Assist with agency and pole-owner invoices, pole tallies, make-ready estimates, and pole application submittals
- Support state and federal grant program reporting with permitting activity details
- Distribute licenses and approvals to field teams
- Confirm construction completion with permitting agencies
- Assemble and archive permit closeout documentation
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- 1+ years of experience in permitting, right-of-way administration, or utility/telecom construction support
- Working familiarity with GIS or mapping software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills to track multiple permits and deadlines simultaneously
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Preferred exposure to right-of-way, railroad, DOT, or municipal permitting workflows
- Familiarity with pole attachment licensing and make-ready coordination
- Experience with fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) or FTTP deployment projects
- Familiarity with Quickbase, Vetro, or Omnia
- Basic awareness of NEPA, NHPA and Section 106, or tribal permitting processes
Demonstrates expertise in permitting processes, including coordination with agencies and engineering teams, while maintaining strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
