Position SummaryThe Fuel Attendant & Customer Service Representative supports the day-to-day operations of the store and fueling station. Ensures safe and efficient fuel dispensing, assists customers, and maintains a clean and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities and Duties- Greet all customers promptly and professionally, providing a welcoming experience.
- Deliver efficient, friendly and accurate service at checkout and during fueling interactions; communicate promotions, loyalty programs and product recommendations.
- Provide assistance with fueling, propane dispensing and other customer needs.
- Handle customer inquiries or concerns and elevate to management as needed.
- Safely operate fuel pumps and propane dispensers, verify proper fuel types and pump markings, and monitor for leaks, spills or hazards.
- Follow safety protocols, including emergency fuel shutoff procedures; maintain required training and certifications related to fuel and propane handling.
- Accurately process cash, credit and debit transactions, perform cash counts and drawer balancing per company policy.
- Verify identification for restricted sales; ensure compliance with cash-handling and loss-prevention procedures.
- Keep interior and exterior areas of the station clean and well maintained; maintain fuel island supplies; clean and restock self-serve beverage and food stations; empty trash receptacles, sweep pump areas, maintain restrooms and entryways; report maintenance issues and pump malfunctions immediately.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and maintain smooth operations; assist with deliveries, stocking and merchandise rotation; support special projects or promotions assigned by management.
- Follow all company policies, procedures and operational standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in retail, fuel service or customer service environment preferred.
- Basic understanding of fuel safety and compliance procedures preferred.
- Ability to complete propane training (as required by state/local regulation).
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Safety-focused mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, self-motivated and able to follow direction.
- Basic computer and POS system proficiency.
- Ability to learn and apply fueling and safety procedures.
- Team-oriented attitude with flexibility for various duties.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending and reaching throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry and move items up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold and rain.
- Regular exposure to fuel fumes and cleaning chemicals (PPE provided).
- Must work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must communicate clearly in person and over the phone.
Site is looking for two flexible part‑time employees. Shift hours: 11am‑7pm and 2pm‑10pm. Number of shifts per week: 2‑3.
