Campus Safety Officer (Temporary, On-Call)
Campus Safety invites applications for a temporary on‑call Campus Safety Officer to maintain order and safety of personnel and property on Oregon Tech campuses. Responsibilities include enforcing University, state, and city laws and policies; responding to emergencies, preventing and investigating crimes; detaining offenders; providing instruction and training; enforcing parking policies; and maintaining broad availability across all shifts.
Responsibilities- Respond to emergencies and investigate crimes and violations.
- Enforce University, state, and local rules, regulations, and policies.
- Detain offenders and support law enforcement.
- Provide campus instruction and training as needed.
- Enforce Oregon Tech parking policies.
- Maintain availability across shifts and provide backfill for uniform operations.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of security or law enforcement experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid Oregon driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within two months of hire.
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment psychological evaluation.
- Completion of a background check through Oregon Tech Human Resources.
- Successful completion of Campus Safety Officer field training program within two months of hire.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice.
- Experience and certifications in FEMA courses, Incident Command/NIMS, or Emergency Management.
- Public safety/security experience in a university or community college.
- Taser certification.
