Campus Safety Officer (Temporary, On-Call)
Campus Safety invites applications for this temporary, on‑call position to maintain order and safety on Oregon Tech campus by enforcing university, state, city and federal rules, regulations, and policies. Duties include emergency response, prevention and investigation of crimes and violations, detaining offenders, providing instruction and training, enforcing parking policies, and maintaining broad availability across all shifts and times to backfill or supplement uniform operations as needed.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or successful completion of GED program.
- One year of security or law enforcement experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid Oregon driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within two months of hire.
- Successfully clear pre‑employment psychological evaluation.
- Successfully clear background check through Oregon Tech Human Resources.
- Successful completion of Campus Safety Officer field training program within two months of hire.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice.
- Experience and certifications in FEMA courses specifically centered in Incident Command/ NIMS and/or Emergency Management.
- Public safety/security experience on a university or community college environment.
- Taser certification.
